Warranty and Guarantee
In case of defective performance, you are entitled to the following rights under the Civil Code and the relevant consumer protection regulations.
Material Warranty
In the event of defective performance by the Service Provider, you may assert a material warranty claim. You may request repair or replacement at your discretion, unless fulfilling the chosen claim is impossible or would result in disproportionate additional costs. If you did not request or could not request repair or replacement, you may claim a proportional reduction of the counter-performance or – as a last resort – withdraw from the contract. As a consumer, you may assert your warranty claim within a 2-year limitation period from the performance.
Product Warranty
In case of a defect in the product, you may assert either a material warranty or a product warranty claim at your discretion. As a product warranty claim, you may only request the repair or replacement of the defective product from the manufacturer or distributor. A product is defective if it does not meet the quality requirements in force at the time of its market release or does not possess the properties stated in the manufacturer's description. You may assert your product warranty claim within 2 years from the product's market release by the manufacturer.
Guarantee
For certain durable consumer goods, mandatory guarantees may apply according to Government Decree 151/2003. (IX. 22.) if the product falls under the scope of the decree. The duration of the guarantee depends on the purchase price and ranges from 1 to 3 years. The guarantee does not affect your rights based on the law.
